Practicing Law since 1985
Mr Kenny Makala is the Managing Partner of Makala and Company, a firm of legal practitioners based in Lusaka, having set it up in 1995. The firm quickly established itself as one of the major practitioners of corporate, financial, business and commercial law in the country.
Mr. Makala, a notary public, holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) and is an advocate of the High Court for Zambia and the Supreme Court. Having practiced law for over twenty five years, Mr. Makala has a wealth of experience in the fields the firm specialises.
Since admission to the Bar in 1985, he has practiced law with a firm of legal practitioners (Ezugha, Musonda and Company of Kitwe), a development bank (Development Bank of Zambia) and a reputable international bank (Barclays Bank Zambia Plc). Mr Ian Mwanajiti Mabbolobbolo, the other partner, has massive experience in the firm’s field of practice. Mr Mabbolobbolo is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb), Zambia branch and the United Kingdom.
The partners are supported by associates, Zambia Institute of Legal Education students, paralegal and other support staff.

Banking Law
Makala & Company advises major international commercial banks on various aspects of the law relating to banking, commerce and labour relations among them Citibank Zambia Limited, Ecobank Zambia Limited, Indo-Zambia Bank Limited and Zambia National Commercial Bank Plc.
Company Secretarial Work
Makala & Company provide services ranging from undertaking incorporation of companies to provision of general company secretarial work.
CORPORATE INSOLVENCY
The firm have assisted the liquidators of ZIMCO Limited, MEMACO Limited, Mulungushi Investments Limited, First Merchant Bank Zambia Limited and Supa Baking Company Limited with legal expertise in insolvency work such as debt collection, conveyancing, litigation and provision of legal opinions on various aspects of corporate insolvency.
LITIGATION
Makala & Company litigate in mortgage actions, foreclosures and general debt collections particularly on behalf of commercial banks.
CONVEYANCING
The firm provides services in drafting and perfection of security documentation of commercial bank lendings of three major international banks. Other conveyancing work includes assignment of real property and preparation of tenancy agreements.
LABOUR AND INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS
The firm has extensive experience in the law of employment and industrial relations and offers its expertise to most of its corporate clients.
